in this role you will be working in the Product Engineering team enhancing Andor’s innovative scientific product portfolio and providing technical support. The role extends to gathering product requirements management, quality testing strategy and development and support for customer queries and production support.

Responsibilities

 

  • Participate in product definition, system architecture, development and verification/validation.
  • Provide innovative, robust and scalable solutions to technical problems
  • Deliver continuous improvement in new developments.
  • Take part in requirements gathering based on system specifications for new products.
  • Contribute to task breakdown, estimation and creation of test plans.
  • Partake in development of performance test suites and efficient transfer to manufacturing.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Build good working relationships with other key departments and customers.
  • Input to user guides, manuals and any other design documentation
  • Take responsibility for own development and self learn
  • Occasional travel to other offices and customer sites.
  • Any other duties as may be required from time to time by your line manager.

 

Essential criteria

 

  • 2.1 (or higher) BSc/BEng qualification in Electrical and Electronic engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Evidence of high initiative and the ability to learn quickly
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capability

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

 

Desirable criteria

 

  • MSc/MEng or PhD in Electrical and Electronic engineering
  • Experience gained within a development environment for design, test and production of instrumentation

  • Evidence of customer support – strong customer empathy and focus

  • Experience of working / fault finding on electronic systems #LI-OF1
