The Opportunity:

Our NanoAnalysis group is the market leader in analytical equipment accessories for scanning electron and transmission electron microscopy. Technologies include energy dispersive x-ray analysis, wavelength x-ray analysis and electron backscatter diffraction. We have an immediate vacancy for a Depot Repair Manager with strong technical repair and customer support skills as well as experience in Radiation Safety, who will manage the NA Depot Repair in the US by working closely with the Services Manager, repairing detectors, aiding Sales & Customer Support, and serving as the Radiation Safety Officer. 


About You: 


The Depot Repair Manager will ideally have the following skills and attributes:

 •    Minimum 2 Year Microscopy or Materials Science degree or equivalent experience; 4 Year Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent also acceptable
•    5-7 years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
•    In-depth knowledge of all Oxford NA products and Experience with Scanning Electron Microscopy, X-ray Microanalysis, and PC-based instrumentation
•    Ability to travel approximately 30% time, including international travel
•    Excellent at working within a Windows environment and strong with Microsoft office skills
•    A sound background in ERP systems, Salesforce and Microsoft Suite of products
•    Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of, and successful track record in, technical support
•    Capability to learn technical information quickly as well as perform technical demonstrations as required
•    Ability to give train others and share technical information in an easy to understand format
•    Ability to communicate and operate as a cross-functional team with sales, service, applications, and other departments
•    Highly developed technical understanding.
•    Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities: 

Detector Repair: 
•    Repair  Xact, Xplore, and Symmetry detectors.
•    Track the RMA process for detectors, ensuring customers and appropriate colleagues are informed when repair is complete and detector is ready to ship 
•    Prep detector for shipping when repairs are complete
•    Coordinate UK repairs: record incoming CARF forms then forward to UK Quality team, track timeline of repairs to ensure progress
•    Prepare all incoming PC’s for service and upgrades; Configure and repair of PCs which have failed or been corrupted in the field and could not be repaired onsite
•    Test and repair of Omniprobe controllers
•    Work with Services Manager to maintain accurate inventory; clear out obsolete parts and products; and work with purchasing to replace with updated parts


Sales and Customer Support: 
•    Assist field-based Customer Support Engineers (CSE). Technical Support (TS), and Product Support to resolve technical issues
•    Work closely with Sales Representatives, TS, Shipping, Administrative Staff, and Management
•    Configure Demo Systems for tradeshows and demonstrations, making the best use of the Demo Inventory and ensuring a quick turnaround and reduced downtime
•    Maintain CSE standard blocks and recondition damaged blocks
•    Produce Software DVDs for CSEs and Customers
•    Installation/De-installation of in-house Demo units
•    Provide support to Marketing & Sales by furnishing leads for system sales, support contracts, and other market intelligence gleaned from contact with customers
•    Track & Maintain the Exchange Detector Inventory for contract customers
•    Maintain Dongles including but not limited to: Tracking FSE demo dongles to ensure renewal before expiration and Producing dongles for licensing of customer contract software upgrades


•    Ensure availability of parts to cover both routine and emergency situations
•    Participate in training and development activities, including training other OI employees. as required
•    Create and maintain required reports including, but not limited to: time & expense, field installation & repair, incident review, and corrective action requests
•    Minimize incurred costs - both time committed and parts consumed - wherever possible 
•    Serve as Radiation Safety Officer: Perform all duties as required by Federal Government and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts regarding monitoring the radiation safety of employees, control of radioactive materials in the office and at customer sites, and calibration of radiation monitoring devices
•    Always perform work in a safe manner, maintain up-to-date knowledge of Health & Safety requirements, including radiation safety
•    Other responsibilities and duties upon request 


Safety Coordinator 
•    Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
•    Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
•    Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety & health programs on premises or at project site locations if necessary
•    Provides management team with guidance on health and safety that fulfils industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
•    Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management. Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
•    Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices.
•    Provides technical support to Managers and Engineers.
•    Reports the status of projects to business and market leaders.
•    Participates in team meetings and provides regular on-site project presence if required.
