We currently have an opening for a Regional IT Manager with the following qualifications:

 

  • Strong experience in delivering ERP systems (ideally Infor or SAP)
  • Good understanding of aligning business and IT process in relation to ERP systems
  • Broad technical knowledge to include hands on infrastructure support when required
  • Knowledge of IT security technologies, procedures, and legislation
  • Good project management and prioritisation planning experience
  • Confident leader and man manager

Role: Regional IT Manager – Concord/Americas
Reports to: Direct: Group IT Director
Indirect: President of Oxford Instruments Americas

Direct & Indirect Reports:
    IT Support Engineer (perm)
    IT Support Engineer (Contract)
Primary Purpose:

Provide regional leadership for the Group IT function for the business based in Concord, MA.  Understands the needs of the companies in the region and drives the implementation of these requirements. Coordinates the rollout of group-wide activities across all OI business units within the region and establishes and manages supplier/business partners as required.

 

Key Responsibilities

Support the Group IT Director in the delivery of the following key responsibilities:

  • Work with Group IT to implement and manage the Group IT strategy
  • Champion the business implementation of new ERP systems, and support the business through changes to existing ERP systems
  • Working with the Enterprise Application team drive continuous improvement activities ensuring that business processes and IT processes align
  • Coordinate Group IT initiatives (application, infrastructure, policies) within region
  • Manage local IT suppliers and vendors relative to the American region. Where appropriate, work with Group wide suppliers
  • Develop, implement, and ensure regular reviews of IT-related policies, procedures, and working practices
  • Ensure IT Infrastructure is available for US operations and brings systems back online in case of interruption, ensuring secure and controlled environments in line with group-wide policy.
  • Coordinate, manage and plan local IT resources to ensure all help desk tickets and service requests are promptly resolved.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders within the IT/EA function and across the Concord Office departments and business units to review and agree on systems requirements, improvements, and investments in new technology that drive efficiencies.
  • Gather requirements, define specifications, design, and testing of bespoke requirements, reporting, analysis, and KPI’s.
  • Provide Project Management of the Enterprise Applications and operational related Changes/Improvements, to include small to medium systems implementations and upgrades.
  • 2nd/3rd line Functional systems support for Group Wide Enterprise Applications and processes.


Regional IT Manager assigned responsibilities.

•    

  • Develop and deliver regional IT plan.
  • Provide technical knowledge and support for “Business as usual” service delivery tasks, creating an ”Automate First” approach to repeatable tasks.
  • Collate all outstanding Concord business “backlog” requests and create requirements and expectations for all tasks.
  • Develop an understanding of all Group Enterprise Applications, their use within the organization, and technical knowledge to manage the systems regionally.  Strong understanding of ERP, CRM, and FSM systems required.
  • Support and encourage the deployment of revised IT Project methodology and advocate for new processes to IT Group and Business leaders.
  • Support and encourage the deployment of revised IT Quality management and governance processes, acting again as an advocate to IT Group and Business leaders.
  • Carry out any other tasks that the Company may reasonably request from time to time.

 

Indicative Performance Measures

  • Assigned Project and implementation tasks planned and delivery dates met
  • Document business systems requirements.
  • Improved customer satisfaction ratings (via Helpdesk and Group Employee survey)
  • Drive process improvements that lead to a reduction in repeat help desk tickets.


Person Specification – Essential requirements unless stated

Education / Qualifications:    

 

  • IT, Engineering, Science or Technology related degree
  • A formal Project Management qualification such as Prince2 - desirable
  • Relevant training and certification that may include CCNA; MCSE; MBCS CITP


Professional Skills/ Abilities:
    •    

  • Strong experience in delivering ERP systems
  • Experience in successfully delivering business change and technology solutions implementation projects
  • A broad technical skillset including hardware/networking and software applications, with the ability to learn new systems
  • Large scale, complex project management, and delivery experience

 Personal Qualities:    • 

 

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to operate successfully in a complex organization
  • Credibility and the ability to communicate functional expertise and knowledge to influence Managing Directors, business leaders, and the Group Board
  • Vision and ability to develop an IT strategy while also overseeing tactical and operational activities
  • Demonstrated influence ability to deliver procedural and operational change improvements within a medium to large enterprise.
  • Proven management skills, with a track record of developing talent and building a solid team – create a succession plan for the Americas
  • Experience in delivering business strategy through technology implementation
  • Collaborative mindset and ability
  • Demonstrated leadership skills at senior management level
  • Awareness of and empathy with other cultures and business environments
  • Good commercial understanding to ensure budgets and targets are met and that all purchases achieve value for money while achieving the best solution
  • Effective, professional, and confident decision-making skills
  • Practical hands-on approach, promoting a “can-do attitude” from self and subordinates through encouragement, coaching, and example-setting
  • Understanding customer (user) needs and promoting excellent customer service
  • Track record of delivery
