Position Summary
The Service Depot Repair Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, testing, and documenting service activities for a range of Oxford Instruments products returned to the depot. This role ensures that repaired systems meet factory specifications and are returned to customers in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on returned instruments and components.
- Ensure all repairs meet performance and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate service records, including fault analysis and repair actions for internal tracking and audit purposes.
- Track and monitor all regional RMAs, maintaining accurate records of status and progress. This includes RMAs with manufacturing sites for external repairs.
- Collaborate with service, logistics, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth handling of repair processes.
- Follow company procedures and quality standards to ensure accuracy, accountability, and adherence to safety and compliance guidelines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in repair processes and documentation.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and tools required for depot repairs.
- Provide feedback to field service and product teams on recurring issues.
- Support any additional tasks or special projects as assigned by the business.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in depot-level repair or technical service in a high-tech environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electronics, optics, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
- Experience with ERP systems and service ticketing platforms.
- Excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair tasks.
- Ability to complete Radiation Safety training and safely handle radiation sources in compliance with all regulations.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Oxford Instruments products or similar scientific instrumentation.
- Knowledge of cleanroom protocols and ESD-safe handling.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Compensation
In accordance with Massachusetts law, the expected salary for this full-time, benefited position is between $60,000 - $80,000. The actual compensation will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience and other factors permitted by law.
