The Opportunity

WITec is looking for its first HR Business Partner working from our Ulm office, to support the integration of the company within Materials Analysis at Oxford Instruments.  About You

 The HR Business Partner will ideally have the following skills and attributes:

  • Degree in e.g. human resources, business administration, law, psychology or social sciences or a comparable qualification
  • Proven work experience in a relevant role
  • Fluent German and English, including written and spoken skills
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly MS Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Good knowledge of German employment law
  • Builds strong, collaborative relationships based on trust
  • Proactive, with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Solutions and focused on business outcomes
  • Able to listen, engage and mobilise a range of stakeholders to enable change and build capability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to prioritise high workload volumes and multitask where necessary
  • Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Able to work autonomously

 

 Key Responsibilities for the HR Business Partner

  • Build strong working relationships with business MDs and managers in order to connect people to the business strategy and priorities and to each other
  • Advise and provide operational support on HR matters e.g. recruitment, development, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, statutory and contractual compliance, communications, consultation and attendance management
  • Provide a full range of support and assistance for all recruitment and selection activities
  • Identify potential people and development issues at an early stage. Support and coach people managers to enable their people and teams to reach their full potential
  • Support the business through change, ensuring that people are listened to, engaged and mobilised as the organisation changes and develops
  • Build manager capability and skills to ensure that people managers are aware of, and follow, approved HR policies and relevant employment law.
  • Maintain local HR policies and contribute to the development of relevant Oxford Instruments Group-wide and regional policies and procedures, ensuring that OI values are embedded and lived on a day-to-day basis
  • Ensure employees are well informed about business and HR activities/issues and have an opportunity to feed up their suggestions and concerns
  • Analyse and report on relevant HR metrics/other HR management information
  • Support the development of a culture where people are provided with support and development and feel fairly treated
  • Support the HR administration processes for the business including updating and maintaining the HR information system (Gem), administration of payroll and benefits and maintenance of employee files and records as required
  • Assist with the annual global salary review as required, obtaining market data etc. Support and assist with commission and bonus payments process.
  • Undertake project work as required, e.g. policy development, benchmarking HR practices, training design and delivery, HR metrics etc
  • Maintain professional awareness of developments in the HR field, e.g. employment law, good HR practice, local employment market conditions
