Intern IT (m/f/d) Software Developement

 

WITec is a leading global manufacturer of high-resolution, nanoanalytical microscope systems. Our customers - university and industrial research laboratories - particularly value the precision, versatility and flexibility of our instruments. Since September 2021, WITec has been part of the Oxford Instruments Group.
The software department develops almost all software components itself that are necessary for the operation of our special microscopes, from the hardware control to the data processing and the graphical user interface. Visual Studio and the .NET framework from Microsoft are used as the development interface. During the development we are anxious to introduce current methods and techniques promptly in order to be able to create a high-quality software.
For the Software R&D department we are looking for an intern (m/f/d) to strengthen our developer team. 


Task: 


Become part of our developer team and contribute to the success of our software. During the internship with a duration of at least 4 months you will have the opportunity to gain a comprehensive insight into software development. Among other things, you will get to know the following technologies:

  • Programming with the language C# in the development environment Visual Studio from Microsoft
  • User interface development with WPF and the MVVM pattern
  • Database queries using the OR Mapper Entity Framework
  • Agile software development processes
  • Writing clean code and unit tests

  
You will have the opportunity to work in a team on existing projects or develop a project independently. The following projects are possible:

  • Database and GUI: Development of a new component for our internal database application. The focus here is the development of the user interface as well as writing the database queries using the OR Mapper Entity Framework.
  • Image processing: Implementation of a video image simulator for our microscope software in order not to depend on a real video camera for software demonstrations.
  • We would be happy to discuss other project opportunities that match your interests and skills during the interview process.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Degree in computer science or a related field of study 
  • already some knowledge in software development with object-oriented programming languages (C#, C++, Java). FFF
  • Structured and solution-oriented way of working
  • Ability to work in a team and commitment as well as willingness to learn new topics
