Business Systems Technical Analyst

Date:  07-Apr-2021

Oxford, GB

Job Function:  Business
Business Unit:  OI plc

At Oxford Instruments, we enable the world’s leading industrial companies and scientific research communities to image, analyse and manipulate materials down to the atomic and molecular level. With a sixty-year history, and fourteen Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, our world-class products and technologies are helping our customers to address the greatest challenges of the 21st century.

We are currently in the process of implementing new ERP, CRM and PLM systems globally to cover a wide scope of functionality from CRM through Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance and Field Service.

To support this work, we are now looking for a Senior Technical Analyst to join our Group Business Systems team. Whilst you will initially be working on a remote basis, you will need to be able to attend meetings onsite in our Head Office near Oxford when required, as well as occasional travel to other UK and US sites.

As a Senior Technical Analyst, you will be administering, supporting and maintaining key Enterprise level business applications from a technical perspective. This will include:
•    providing technical support for a range of Business Systems in use across the OI Group
•    Set-up and configuration of Business Systems Applications
•    Support of data migration processes using MS-SQL tools
•    SQL DBA activities such as support, configuration and maintenance of multiple databases

You'll be supported by functional expertise both within the Group Business Systems team, and from 3rd party software providers.

This is a great career development opportunity for a candidate with experience in a smaller organisation or a single-site role who is looking for their next challenge as part of a bigger team or organisation.

The ideal candidate will have experience of supporting the Infor Cloud Suite Industrial (CSI, or SyteLine) package, although if you are familiar with similar ERP systems and can demonstrate the necessary skills to adapt quickly and effectively to a new system, we would also love to hear from you.

To be successful, you should be familiar with setting up and maintaining MS-SQL databases, script creation, software development life cycle processes, remote desktop services and general MS Server administration. You will also need to be able to explain all of this to non-technical colleagues, work effectively in our team, and demonstrate your problem solving and analytical skills.

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly team and have a global impact. Roles within Oxford Instrument are typically broad-based, and you will have lots of opportunity to be involved in improving our business processes and will be able to see the impact of your contribution to how we operate around the world.

In addition to a competitive starting salary, structured career development opportunities, and a good work-life balance, Oxford Instruments offers 25 days annual leave, half-days on Fridays, private healthcare, a share incentive plan, a defined contribution Group Personal Pension Plan, and a flexible benefits package that you can tailor to your own requirements. #LI-BK1
