We have a rare and exciting opportunity for someone to join our Facilities team as a Facilities Technician. 

 

 

The opportunity

 

In this role you will learn how to maintain our site ensuring that it is fit for purpose and fully functional allowing us to meet our customer needs and business performance. 

 

On the job training will be provided as well as a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Manufacturing Engineering with an emphasis on Mechatronics.  This learning will be provided at the Oxfordshire Advanced Skills facility in Culham and is due to start in September 2021.

 

Once trained and qualified, with the support of the facilities team you will be responsible for:

 

  • Servicing and maintenance of site equipment and machinery
  • Implementing and delivering a preventative maintenance schedule
  • General day to day maintenance of the facility
  • Asset Register Maintenance including statutory and compliance requirements
  • Building effective relationships with all colleagues
  • Contractor Management
  • Budget adherence with guidance from Health, Safety, Facilities and Environment Manager
  • CAD or Technical Drawing tasks for projects

 

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role and apprenticeship you will be committed to your own personal and professional development.  You will be able to plan your time effectively to ensure you meet work and academic deadlines.  Ideally you will have an interest in facilities management including health & safety, compliance standards and delivering a high quality facilities service to keep the facility running.

 

Having your own transport is advisable, due to our remote location and for transportation to and from the OAS facility. 

 

You will also have achieved 5 GCSE grades at Grade C/4 or above including Maths, English and preferably a STEM related subject.  You may also have some practical experience or be looking to retrain.
