We are looking for a Field Applications Specialist to support our growth in Lifescience Microscopy Systems. The Field Applications Specialist will provide advanced pre and post-sale lifescience imaging and microscopy application support. 

 

Pre-sale : The Applications Specialist will demonstrate Andor’s spinning-disk microscopes and advanced imaging applications to the customers to facilitate the sales team winning orders.

Post-sale : The Applications Specialist will help both new and established customers to use their Andor spinning-disk microscopes to achieve industry-leading results by offering hardware/software training, technical advice and applications support.

 

The Field Applications Specialist will work closely with the EMEA Microscopy Systems sales team to plan microscope demonstrations at customer labs across Europe ( with a particular focus on Germany & France ), ensuring the proposed Andor spinning-disk microscope solution matches the customer needs. This means that although the role is home-based, there is a requirement for frequent travel to leading lifecience research institutes working on advanced applications across the territory

 

In addition to pre and post-sale microscopy application support, the market insight this role achieves is collated and communicated back to the business, through a close working relationship with the Andor Product Management team. The Field Applications Specialist is typically the technical face of the company, so building relationships and collaborations with customers is key.  You will have the opportunity to make a real difference, both to Andor’s business and to our customers. This position offers the unique opportunity to use both your life science research background and microscopy technical knowledge.
 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Demonstrate Andor spinning-disk confocal microscopes in customer laboratories and provide applications support to potential customers to build a pipeline of business opportunities.
  • Provide additional customer training and application support to ensure customer success.
  • Provide product and application training to Andor sales staff, channel partners and customers.
  • Strengthen existing customer relationships, Key Opinion Leader relationships and develop new business relationships in Microscopy Systems communities
  • Support EMEA Regional Sales Engineers and distributors with technical and application expertise.
  • Attend conferences & seminars, make presentations, participate in workshops,
  • Attend sales meetings and offer feedback and suggestions to improve product solutions.
  • Travel as required, which is expected to be an average of 50% of time, primarily within EMEA. 
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time by your Line Manager

 

We are looking for someone with the following:

Postgraduate qualification in a life science subject

Please note, that due to the nature of this role, there will be a high level of travel involved; the person who is successful in this role, can be travelling up to 50% of the time.
