Logistics Manager

We are looking for a detail-oriented multitasker to manage all aspects of logistics, shipping and receiving for our fast-paced, high tech manufacturing business.  You’ll interface across several departments and coordinate directly with our customers to ensure all shipments are fulfilled and delivered on time and to spec, ensuring outstanding customer service at all touch points throughout the process.  This is a great opportunity for an experienced administrator who loves to juggle multiple high priority deadlines in an exciting, revenue-driven international business environment.

 

The Role

  • Facilitate the order process after entry, including pulling parts for testing, pulling orders for shipment and contacting the customers to provide updates on shipment information and relevant sales contacts.
  • Support the shipment of all orders by processing US customs paperwork for international orders, interfacing with freight companies on incoming and outgoing shipments, and assisting with top-level component packaging.
  • Serve as the direct contact for global sales staff on lead times, shipping logistics, export custom regulations, and coordination of return shipments as required.
  • Review, approve and provide input to contracts.
  • Coordinate closely with colleagues in supply chain and production to make sure parts are purchased and built in accordance with the customer shipment schedule.
  • Maintain inventory counts and inventory adjustments to ensure accurate planning and lead times.  Coordinate regular cycle counts and utilize ERP to investigate discrepancies.
  • Manage the day-to-day requirements and long-term strategy for the overall logistics and shipping/receiving function, including people management, reporting, and other more proactive improvement projects as required.

 

The Candidate

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain and logistics, or at least 5 years in a high-level customer service administrator role or similar.  Some experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment highly desirable.
  • Experience using an ERP system in a technical manufacturing environment, and/or expert-level computer skills and the ability to learn new programs quickly.
  • Awareness of logistics best practices, methodology and legal/ethical compliance.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and juggling several high-stress, high priority items simultaneously with ease.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate productively across multiple departments and with customers in a wide range of settings and geographies.
