Production Technician

Primary Purpose:

Performs various production processes, which are intricate & complicated in nature and specific to the construction of x-ray tubes, and related products.  To manufacture products and components to meet agreed quality, time-scale and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Standards of Performance

From team production plan, manage personal workload ensuring all milestones are achieved

Meets all manufacturing schedule time-scales

All tasks undertaken to be completed within routing time and to schedule

Supports the implementation of best practice processes, techniques and continuous improvement methods

Produces product of good workmanship

Operate within the Quality policy and procedures as defined in the quality system

Manufactures to existing procedures

Maintain a flexible attitude and approach to changing requirements and priorities

Able and willing to go where demands are most urgent

Recognise team customers, both internal and external and strive to fully satisfy their needs

Understands the impact of their role on the customer

Personally, demonstrates highest standards of workmanship

Maintains  high level of workmanship

Using agreed measures, monitor and report on existing processes, indicating the need for corrective action as required

Processes operated are running within their proven capability and monitored consistently

Be aware of and ensure personal compliance with Health and Safety policy and procedures

Support the daily/weekly/monthly safety audits and close out any corrective actions within agreed time-scale

Responsible and regular attendance

On time and regular attendance with clear communication with supervisor when time off is needed

Other duties as assigned to assure departmental excellence and teamwork        

Willing to help others when asked to do so and embrace collateral duties.

Education / Qualifications:

• High School graduate or GED.
• Relevant prior experience

Physical Skills/ Abilities:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often throughout the entire shift.
• Frequent movement between different workstations and areas within the production facility.
• Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as assembling components, operating machinery, and using hand tools.
• Ability to handle and manipulate small parts with precision.
• Good vision required for detailed inspection of products and machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, and computer screens.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and respirators when necessary.
• Clear and effective verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members, reporting issues, and following instructions
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently during the shift.
• Capability to perform repetitive tasks and movements.
