Role:	Technical Support Engineer
Reports to:	Andor Service Supervisor, China
Direct Reports:	None
Primary Purpose:	To be responsible for in-house repair, on-site trouble shooting, and manage return repair process for Andor scientific cameras, spectrographs and accessories. Provide technical support for Andor research and OEM products.

Key Responsibilities

Field Service support for customers.
Trouble shooting for cameras, spectrographs and related accessories.
Cooperate with other colleagues that in China and in factory of headquarter.
Interact with local staff and service tracking systems to ensure suitable response times and solutions. Engage in problem solving and deliver clear and concise answers.
Assist in other regional marketing activities in their region including road shows, trade exhibitions and mailshots.
Must be willing to travel 20-50%.
Any other duties as may be reasonably requested from time to time by your Line Manager.

Person Specification – Essential requirements unless stated

Education / Qualifications:

Bachelor or higher of optical, physics, EE, optical-electronics engineering, etc.

Professional Skills/ Abilities:

Basic background knowledge of optical and physics, at least 1 year of experience in instrumentation of optical or electronics.
Good English reading and writing, no problem on spoken English for communication on general work.

Personal Qualities:

Willing on studying and solving problem.
Ability of working under pressure, and arranging multi-mission.
Consciousness of improve own work, including modifying workflows and develop simple tools.
