Supplier Quality Engineer

Primary Purpose:

 

Establish OI Service Parts Inventory in country. Responsible for supplier quality assessment and management. Perform supplier quality management per global supplier quality strategy, conduct supplier selection and qualification of suppliers/sub-suppliers and support suppliers to manage the process quality to ensure stable quality of supplied parts.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the quality assurance of raw materials supplied by suppliers, timely feedback to suppliers for improvement and follow up improvement report in incoming material inspection, production process inspection, customer complaints, etc.
  • Responsible for tracking and confirming supplier's improvement report and implementation effect, driving supplier to make complete improvements. If necessary, on-site audit and inspection need to be carried out.
  • Evaluate and verify supplier process controls and supplier quality systems, analyse product failures, facilitate writing and/or approve results of corrective actions of suppliers.
  • Responsible for judgment, feedback, disposition of poor-quality material with supplier during incoming inspection.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance systematically, coordinate internal related function and follow up supplier to improvement for poor performance suppliers.
  • Monitoring the project schedule of supplier and giving feedback.
  • Feeding back the product quality information and tracking, advancing the capability of the supplier to fulfil the target of the quality improvement.
  • Other tasks arranged by line manager.

Person Specification – Essential requirements unless stated

 

Education / Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, major in mechanical, electronical, optical, or engineering is preferred.
  • More than 5 years in Supplier Quality management or related functional area.

 

Professional Skills/ Abilities:

 

  • Must be able to analyse and resolve raw material issues using independent judgment and inspection equipment.
  • Candidates must be able to generate, follow, and explain detailed instructions and inspection spec. to supplier.
  • Proficient in quality tools. Familiar with ISO quality management system.
  • Ability to work closely and bridge with other teams.
  • Project Management
