To support our growth, we are looking for a motivated colleague to join our Electronics team in Ulm, Germany.

 

 

Development Engineer for Optomechanics (f/m/d)

 

 

Your Tasks:

 

  • Design and development of optomechanical systems and components
  • Building and testing prototypes and conducting experiments to validate design concepts
  • Carrying out optical and mechanical simulations
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including software development, production, research and development and electronics
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation and reports

 

 

Your Qualifications:

 

  • The joy of experimenting and problem solving
  • Degree in physics, precision engineering or medical technology with a focus on (technical) optics, optomechanics, optical engineering, laser and optotechnologies or a comparable subject area
  • Sound knowledge of optics, mechanics and design as well as basic knowledge of optical simulation and programming (Python)
  • Advantageous: Knowledge of finite element simulation for optical applications & knowledge of the effects of material properties on the performance of components
  • Experience with laser-based microscopy is desirable.
  • Very good German and good written and spoken English skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, problem-solving skills, analytical thinking and a structured way of working
