Apprentice Production Technician (Mechatronics)

Our operations teams are made up of skilled professionals working across a range of production and supply chain roles. We work closely with our technical and commercial colleagues to ensure that our high-tech products are built to spec, manufacturing quality standards remain high and our instruments are the best on the market.


We invest in apprentices as they are our future.  We will support you through your apprenticeship programme which includes academic study and practical training.  You will gain the skills and knowledge to build our high-tech products.

A role in Production can be a great starting point for moving in to another job family where problem-solving skills and a disciplined approach to quality improvements and cost savings are key. If you prefer to stay in Production, then our grade structure creates promotion opportunities as you develop new capabilities and take on increasing levels of responsibility.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build sub-assemblies and piece parts to achieve build schedules and conform to ISO 9001 procedures whilst under close supervision.
  • Aim to continuously improve skill levels by increasing key skills competency as defined during the duration of the Apprenticeship / training programme 
  • Maintain good housekeeping and 5S initiatives
  • Contribute to the performance of the Build Team through continuous improvements. 



  • Good general level of education
  • Minimum requirements Grade 6 GCSE Maths, Grade 5 English and Science 


Desirable Professional Skills/Abilities:

  • Practical approach, good work ethic and logical thinker  
  • Good communication skills
  • Accurate worker, who is not easily distracted
  • An aptitude for Mechatronic principles and a desire to gain further in-depth understanding and knowledge
  • Willingness to commit to studies required to gain the required qualification and to complete assignments to agreed deadlines

We’re moving!  We are looking forward to relocating to our impressive purpose-built, high-tech premises.  The new site is located at:   WESTERN APPROACH DISTRIBUTION PARK, SEVERN BEACH, BRISTOL BS35
