Principal Electrical Design Engineer

We are recruiting for a Principal Electrical Design Engineer for a permanent role based on Severn Beach, Bristol. As a Principal Design Engineer, you can drive the development of how we deliver electrical engineering, leading our transition to better ways of working. Through mentorship and guidance, you will help less experienced staff to grow their skills and ensure our designs are of world class quality and right first time.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recognised as a leader in your area of expertise within the organisation.
  • Ensure all work complies with our company standards.
  • Ensure all work complies with the required market standards (E.g. EN standards).
  • Provide technical information required for manuals and other documentation.
  • Maintain and promote the implementation of professional standards.
  • Work with other designers and departments to ensure specifications are clear and complete.
  • Work with other departments to translate the technical requirements into structured modular designs.
  • Be proficient in the use of AutoCAD Electrical, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors and, where necessary, carry out supplier/site visits.
  • Development of design-related tools and automation.
  • Improvement in departmental processes.
  • Support the Electrical Engineering Manager with the running of the department.

 

Education / Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, Postgraduate preferred.

  • Computer literacy, including MS Office
