Process Development Specialist

This is a key role within the solutions team developing and controlling system requirements in their areas of expertise. You will be work closely with the innovation and NPI teams in developing key new system solutions to address the key markets. You will also support the final acceptance of first off systems and developments in the field by working by working closely with the Commercial Solutions and support teams, either remotely or at their sites. This is a hands-on role whilst also allowing for the development into potential leadership roles.

 

Key Responsibilites:

  • Work with NPI Manager to collate the following information to inform the product roadmap and product strategy:​​​​​​​
    • JTBD
    • Voice of Customer information
    • Competitor information
    • Market information; through attendance at conferences, latest publications, customer visits, customer requests, etc.,
  • Be the subject matter expert (etch, dep or IB) on hardware design for etch process and supporting technologies and advise the NPI and Innovation Development Group (IDG) teams on developments required to deliver future solutions.
  • Be the internal customer for the solutions provided by the NPI and IDG teams.
  • Support the Application Development Manager in defining Market Requirement Specifications and Business Cases for new developments which are then incorporated into development projects within the NPI program.
  • With the Application Development and C4P Manager define and control the process related part of the BOM of systems for the solutions in their area of expertise.
  • Work with the Technical Market Manager to generate content for presentations, white papers, webinars, blogs, etc in line with the overall marketing strategy for the specific area of expertise.
  • Suggest improvements to processes and tools and new features based on customer and market knowledge to be reviewed as additions to the NPI programme.
  • Collaborate in the planning and implementation of Continuous Improvement Programme and Joint Development Projects.
  • Work with the Commercial Solutions Manager and market Product Manager to support the sales of products and follow up new enquiries promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain good customer relationships and collaborations, under the direction of the sales and Process Solution manager.
  • Carry out 8D activities in collaboration with customer support as required.

 

Education/Qualification:

  • A relevant science or engineering degree. Chemical engineering would be an advantage.
  • Ideally, significant experience of the semiconductor industry or relevant experience in an academic institution

 

Professional Skills/Abilites:

Ideally experience of design of plasma tools, for use in any of the following areas:

  • ALD
  • PECVD
  • MEMS etching
  • HBLED’s etching
  • Compound Semiconductor etching
  • Metal or dielectric etching

If none of these either

Experience of design of equipment used for other chemical processes and a willingness to learn etch technology to a high level

Or

High level knowledge of etch techniques and a willingness to learn to design the tools.
