We are thrilled to offer an incredible opportunity for the Production Delivery Manager position. In this pivotal position, you will take charge of operational processes and lead strategic initiatives to drive efficiency and productivity within our production teams. Your role will involve evaluating performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing projects to elevate our daily business operations.

 

As a key Operations team member, you will be instrumental in bringing about strategic enhancements within our production environment. By employing cutting-edge project management techniques and leveraging data analysis, you will develop precise KPIs to revolutionize our performance across production's Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People aspects.

 

We seek someone with exceptional technical and communication skills, particularly in pinpointing operational inefficiencies that may impede production. Your role will also encompass leading project teams, introducing best practices and digital solutions, and collaborating closely with a diverse, multifunctional team. With your demonstrated leadership and management expertise, you will have the opportunity to deputize for the Head of Production and provide critical cover for the Value Stream Manager as necessary. As a vital member of our Management Team, you will play a central role in executing our business strategy, fostering strong cross-functional relationships, and driving continuous development within Plasma Technology.

Your close collaboration with our Sales, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to seamlessly deliver the Sales and Operations Planning process, perfectly aligned with our customers' requirements, will be paramount to our success. Key Responsibilities:

Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
    • SQCDP is to be used as a basis for identifying improvement projects.
    • Support Operational / Business Excellence and COPQ projects.
  • Assist the introduction of new products. Provide production engineering support to new products and change introduction, proactively inputting into the NPI process to guide manufacturability, testability, and production efficiency objectives.
  • Support regular 6s Audits/ events to improve productivity and workplace organisation.
  • Seek employee ideas, involvement, and participation in improvement activities.
  • Lead strategic projects focussed on step change improvements to the value stream.
  • Manage the integration of manufacturing with new technologies, people, and processes while supporting cross-functional business processes and activities.
  • Pursue our drive for excellence, engaging and leading the way with support and commitment for visual management, Gemba, green belt projects, continuous improvement activities and Kaizen events.

  • Mentor, coach, develop and provide values driven leadership.
  • Ensure effective two-way communications with multifunctional teams.
  • Identify and manage risks by ensuring robust business continuity plans are in place.
  • Project management of people, materials, systems, and processes to achieve to maximise both growth and profitability.
  • Support and facilitate the improvement in product margin through the management of direct and indirect costs.
  • Work closely with peers, specifically supply chain, Value Stream Manager, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to execute OIPT’s strategic plan, budget, and policy deployment requirements.

 

Data and Reporting:

  • Measure and analyse value stream performance using the defined SQDCP metrics and provide the required weekly/monthly reports.
  • Analyse the root cause of metrics not at target level and develop the necessary action/recovery plans.


Education/Qualifications:

  • An engineering degree, Apprenticeship in an appropriate discipline or equivalent experience is advantageous.
  • Lean Green belt or equivalent.

  • Experience managing and developing technicians and technical staff within a relevant manufacturing environment.
  • Recognizes, inspires, and motivates the team to contribute to the wider business objectives and implements actions and opportunities to continuously develop staff, individually and as a team. Sets high standards of attendance and output, establishes systems that motivate staff to reach these targets, and makes difficult decisions where necessary.
  • Open to fresh ways of working and innovative in suggesting new ideas and possible solutions.
  • Able to communicate enthusiasm for a subject to others.
  • A comprehensive understanding of manufacturing methods, as they apply to a high technology, high complexity, low volume manufacturer.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Plans effectively to meet business objectives.
  • Puts in place monitoring processes and makes appropriate adjustments when progress is not as planned or when requirements change.
  • Plans own time to maximum effect, delegating responsibility, and authority appropriately.
  • Effectively collaborates with and makes a significant contribution to the broader management team.
