We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our Materials Analysis business, supporting a global, science-led organisation through high-quality financial reporting, analysis and business partnering.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant with manufacturing experience who enjoys understanding operational performance, driving process improvements and influencing business decisions through insightful financial information.
The Opportunity
As Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and providing valuable analysis to stakeholders across the business. Working closely with Finance and Operations teams, you'll help drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement across an international manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting financial analysis.
- Manage accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and fixed assets.
- Analyse inventory, margins, labour recoveries and cost performance.
- Support transfer pricing calculations and monthly foreign exchange (FX) reporting.
- Deliver monthly R&D labour recovery reporting and forecasting activities.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and order book planning processes.
- Participate in quarterly balance sheet reviews and Group reporting activities.
- Partner with operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge.
- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, reporting and systems, including the use of AI and digital technologies.
About You
You'll be an analytical and proactive finance professional with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insight. You'll enjoy working collaboratively across functions, managing competing priorities and identifying opportunities to improve performance and processes.
Essential Requirements
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or part-qualified.
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, industrial or production environment.
- Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
- Knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing and product costing methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
- The ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience within a science, engineering or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Power BI, Cognos Controller or similar reporting tools.
- Experience within a complex international organisation.
