The Opportunity

 

As a Product Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, resolving monitoring and managing the continuing compliance of new and existing products to prevailing product related legislation in applicable Sales territories.

 

About You

The Product Compliance Specialist will ideally have the following skill/attributes:

 

  • Degree qualified in Electronics / electromechanical / mechanical discipline
  • Competent, professional attitude with a strong attention to detail
  • Possess the 'hands on' willingness and technical ability to interrogate electrical, electronic and mechanical product data to assess the 'compliance status' of components and sub assemblies. Using data collected, act to address the needs of applicable product compliance legislation
  • Strong communicator, writer, and presenter
  • Expert user of core MS office and related applications Word Excel etc
  • Understanding of data protection, privacy, security, and other common compliance frameworks (FDA, ISO, GDPR, SOX)
  • Knowledge of CSR topics considered advantageous
  • Should be considered an expert in the field of product compliance. Including (but not limited to);
    • Low Voltage directives
    • EMC
    • IEC
    • FDA (USA) Laser based product
    • Environmental: ROHS, China ROHS, California Prop65, REACH, SCIP database,  and TSCA

 

  • At least 5 years’ leadership experience in an electrotechnical Product Compliance environment
  • Enjoys working in a varied challenging environment
  • As an advocate for compliance, must possess a strong sense of ownership and accountability for Product compliance matters.
  • A willingness and flexible approach to travel and remain for extended period in US and UK /EU locations is a key part of this role

 

 

 Key responsibilities for the Product Compliance Specialist

 

  • Provides regulatory direction to development project teams as a core team member
  • Interpret and apply regulations pre and post design and provide regulatory input, advice, and guidance to the organisation based upon key criteria. e.g.: Product functionality Vs applicable legislation.
  • Review proposed product changes, assessing the impact on regulatory status of the product.
  • Management & maintenance of product technical file(s)
  • Collaborate with internal Compliance and Project leads also external consultants, test houses & manage product compliance testing & certification
  • Collect collate and validate evidence of compliance (Components) from supply chain partners.
  • Assign and manage respective documentary evidence in product data files e.g.: BoM’s.
  • Collate and manage product technical files including compliance declarations & data
  • Manage communications with respect to Compliance with external parties & stakeholders
  • Any other projects as assigned to help the Company meet its goals
