Materials Analysis is an Oxford Instruments Business Unit that manages our Electron Microscopy and Mechanical Microscopy products, Atomic Force Microscopes, Raman Microscopes and Benchtop NMR Products. We are looking for an Applications Specialist AFM to join our Applications team. The role is based in Les Ulis, France with frequent travel to customers across the EU.

 

This role is ideal if…

  • You want to contribute as an in-house AFM expert, providing technical expertise and support both internally and externally
  • Are passionate about developing and communicating new applications and techniques
  • Have experience and extensive knowledge of the theory and operation of AFM’s.

 

 

Role and responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute best in class demonstrations and application work for AFM related products (incl. sample preparation).
  • Compile comprehensive and sales supportive reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform customer trainings.
  • Join joint customer meetings with relevant members of the organisation.
  • Proactively visit and support customers in alignment with leadership.
  • Support running workshops, webinars, and hands-on sessions.
  • Support creating marketing material in form of application notes, blog posts and others; support development of marketing specifications for new product solutions through Voice of Customer.
  • Ensure feedback of market intelligence and potential product enhancements to all relevant members of the organisation.
  • Support the testing of prototype products and relevant analysis for market usability/suitability and providing feedback to the relevant members of the organisation.
  • Proactively log daily activities.
  • Facilitate a clean and safe working environment.
  • Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities in line with the scope and level of responsibility of the post, which might be reasonably required.
