Plasma Technology, as a part of Oxford Instruments Group, offers flexible, configurable process tools and leading-edge processes for the precise, controllable and repeatable engineering of micro- and nanostructures. Our systems provide process solutions for the etching of nanometre sized features, nanolayer deposition and the controlled growth of nanostructures. These solutions are based on core technologies in plasma-enhanced deposition and etch, ion-beam deposition and etch, atomic layer deposition, deep silicon etch and physical vapour deposition.
To support the ongoing growth of our business we are hiring Customer Support Engineer in Sweden. The role is field-based and will mainly cover Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway.
Role Purpose
To ensure that Plasma Technology equipment is fully functional and available for customer use. This will involve regular extensive travel in the Nordic Region and occasionally EMEA area.
Your Key Responsibilities would be:
- Carry out the commissioning of equipment including any operational and maintenance training requirements
- Respond to emergency breakdowns for any warranty and service contract work.
- Report regularly to the EMEA Team Leader on all relevant issues and for PDR objectives.
- Provide a visit report for each customer visit, detailing work completed, outstanding issues, time spent on site, travelling etc., and help to ensure that all chargeable work is invoiced to the customer promptly.
- Authorise system ‘buy-off’ prior to shipment either with or in the absence of the customer.
- Liaise with technical support and systems engineering on any potential or actual system problems.
- Liaise with Sales Team to provide useful background information.
- Help to maintain an accurate record of the status of systems, timing of warranty, parts supplied and service contracts.
- Keep up to date all relevant enquiries and project files on any significant information.
- Provide detailed and accurate record of expense incurred on behalf of the Company.
You would be an ideal match if you are:
- Formal Electronic qualification
- Substantial relevant experience and training
- Ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical drawings
- Good PC / PLC experience preferred
- Experience of Semi-Conductor or closely related high-Tech electronic industry
- Fluent English speaker, second European language would be a plus
- Driving licence
- Be prepared to extensive travel
- Able to work on own initiative
- Clear & concise communicator
- Able to prioritise multiple tasks
