NanoScience manufactures market leading research tools that enable quantum technologies, nano technology research, advanced materials and nano device development in the physical sciences. This kind of complex technology requires thorough, accurate and often innovative purchasing solutions. 

 

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Team Leader to lead and manage a team of Supply Chain Development Specialists and Buyers.  For this role, we would welcome an enthusiastic, motivated individual that gains satisfaction from implementing improvements, developing teams and maintaining our excellent customer service.

 

 

The opportunity

 

As the Purchasing Team Leader you will be responsible for leading and managing the purchasing function to achieve agreed targets on quality, cost, delivery and people. This will include providing support to team members when required, planning and managing resource in line with the output plan and overseeing tactical buying decisions. As Purchasing Team Leader, you will also manage communication between the Supply Chain Team and Internal Customers to ensure quality of supply and on time delivery in line with the output plan, as well as identifying and driving improvements and facilitating excellent supplier relations.

 

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience of working in a purchasing environment, including being able to demonstrate the use of best practice, together with ERP and MRP experience. The ability to communicate well with others including at a senior level and encouraging others in the team to do the same is essential. Proven leadership, decision making and organisational skills are a must, along with the ability to influence decisions to the commercial benefit of the company.
