If interesting technology and a great company culture are what attracts you, then our Senior Magnet Engineer is your next career move.  We are looking for an experienced individual to lead in the design of our custom superconducting and cryogenic systems.  You will work with customers that are undertaking ground-breaking research, as well as across the wider NanoScience business.

 

 

The opportunity

 

In this you will be responsible for leading the development of custom superconducting magnets and cryogenic systems to meet customer requirements.  You will oversee the process from request for quotation through to installation, as well as offering support to customers and engineers once the product is in the field.  As Senior Magnet Engineer, you will lead on the technical aspects of developing products and making design improvements.  Duties will include, generating concept designs and product specifications, risk mitigation, lead safety & reliability assessments, as well as defining the product structure, BOM and technical documentation to support manufacturing.

 

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you will have a degree or higher in a relevant science or engineering discipline, with relevant industrial experience.  It is essential that you have proven experience in designing superconducting magnets, preferably with in-depth knowledge of different technologies such as wet, cryo-free, LTS and HTS.  Knowledge of cryogenic systems is also a must for this role.  It would be ideal if you had experience of modern manufacturing techniques, systems integration, and risk/hazard analysis.  Excellent communication skills, team working and decision-making abilities will also be a necessity.
