We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our Magnetic Resonance business and lead in the development of embedded software.  This is an incredibly diverse role that works on multiple products and requires a breadth of understanding and imagination to solve the challenges faced, you will find the team you work with to be both supportive and passionate – this is an ideal environment for someone that has an interest in science and would like to develop.


Hybrid working arrangements are available with this role.


The opportunity


In this role you will design, write, and test software for the full range of Magnetic Resonance products and applications (current and new).  You will be the lead in developing the embedded processes, writing code to control the modules and hardware within our systems, for example, auto samplers, temperature controls and the supervisory electronics.  Your involvement will be across all stages of software development, from designing new programmes to debugging and testing existing programmes.  The documentation you provide will form the basis of software manuals and you will offer software support to our customers.  This is a varied role that will see you working with a diverse range of disciplines across Magnetic Resonance and other Oxford Instrument businesses.

About you


To be successful in this role you will be experienced with embedded design, having gained significant exposure to problem solving in this area. You will need to be proficient in Linux and one of the following programming languages (C, C++, or C#), however experience of C and python is the preferred.  It would be desirable if you were competent in Windows programming, such as COM., NET., and Win32.  Your excellent communication skills, together with your self-motivation and passion for what you do will help you fit right in with this team.
