About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Nanoindentation team in Zurich. In this hands-on role, you will design, develop, and optimise control electronics for our industry-leading Nanoindenter products, which provide unparalleled insights into material properties at the micro and nanoscale.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across all stages of electronics development — from concept and simulation to system integration — while collaborating with talented software, hardware, and production teams across our global organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, simulate, implement, and verify analog and digital circuits, including microcontrollers and FPGA-based systems
- Lead all phases of electronics development, from feasibility studies to system integration
- Select and evaluate electronic components for functionality, availability, and cost
- Contribute to embedded software and VHDL development, ensuring smooth collaboration between electronics and software teams
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as EMC, Low Voltage Directive, and RoHS
- Document designs, testing processes, and results clearly in English
- Support existing and new product lines, including engineering change management and production handover
- Provide technical support to production and customer support teams
About You
Education & Qualifications
• MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Professional Skills
- Proven experience designing analogue, digital, and power supply circuitry
- Expertise in FPGA workflows and embedded development (including VHDL)
- Knowledge of low-noise measurement systems – a strong advantage
- Familiarity with LabVIEW – a plus
- Strong understanding of EMC, Low Voltage Directive, and RoHS standards
- Excellent communication skills in English
